WESTSCHEME SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM GUIDELINES

Westscheme is a superannuation fund run only to profit members and has limited sponsorship resources.  To date, Westscheme has chosen to commit those resources to a state-based sponsorship program that is focussed on vocational education and training (VET), in particular the Beazley Medal: VET and the Westscheme Awards for Excellence in VET in schools. Through this sponsorship program Westscheme pays tribute to the majority of its members, who work in the service and trades industries, at the same time promoting financial literacy amongst secondary school students, to help them make smart financial choices when they leave school.

While there are no plans to broaden the VET focus of the program at this time, Westscheme will consider all sponsorship proposals it receives, based upon their merits and their ‘fit’ with Westscheme’s Sponsorship Policy. 

Sponsorship by Westscheme does not include the provision of:

  • Donations in cash or kind, for which little or no commercial return is expected;
  • Hospitality, such as entertainment, food or beverages for existing and potential clients in expectation of return; or
  • Commissions or other payment to third parties to secure specific participation in Westscheme.

Westscheme does not provide sponsorship to: political organisations; religious organisations; or organisations that have not fulfilled previous sponsorship obligations.

Westscheme does not sponsor:

  • Events which do not provide opportunities for the promotion of Westscheme;
  • Interstate or overseas travel or tours;
  • Retrospective funding or fund raising events;
  • Capital works or maintenance projects, equipment or materials;
  • Infrastructure costs associated with running an organisation;
  • Projects that discriminate against any persons, organisations or groups; or
  • Events that create environmental hazards.
