When you join Westscheme, if you do not make an investment choice, your money is invested in the Trustee’s Selection. This is an investment strategy that aims to achieve returns of 3% above inflation over rolling five-year periods.  It is an option designed to suit most of our members.  You can change the option in which your superannuation is invested. We recommend you seek financial advice when making investment decisions.

WANT TO MAKE AN INVESTMENT CHOICE?

Read more from our Member Handbook/Product Disclosure Statement.

To change your superannuation investment options, fill out and return the Application to Choose Investment Options form to Westscheme. This form can be found at the back of the Member Handbook/Product Disclosure Statement.

Alternatively, members can change their investment options online by accessing their account.

WHEN WILL A CHANGE OF INVESTMENT TAKE EFFECT?

Westscheme's process for switching investment options does not accommodate immediate or quick changes.

A request to change the investment of the member's existing account balance will take effect from the beginning of the month following receipt of the instruction to change. This includes all requests received online via the Westscheme website before midnight Australian Eastern Standard Time on the last day of the month.

A request to change the investment of the member's future amounts received will now take effect from the date the instruction is received by Westscheme.

Example: A member with an account balance of $40,000 invested in the Cash investment option submits a request to Westscheme on 14 March to change their investment option for both their existing account balance and future amounts received to the Trustee Selection option.

If the member subsequently makes a personal contribution of $1,000 on 20 March, that amount is immediately invested in the Trustee Selection option. However, the existing account balance remains in the Cash investment option until 1 April, at which time it is invested in the Trustee Selection option.
